The President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, welcomed the winners of the 2025/2026 international subject Olympiads and competitions at Riga Castle. Among them was Petr Shvab, a student at the RTU International School of Science and Technology (ISST), who was honoured for winning a bronze medal at the 67th International Mathematical Olympiad.
At the event, the President said: “A big thank you to everyone who took part in the Olympiads and dared to take on the challenge. My heartfelt thanks to the teachers and educators — none of this would have been possible without your patience and support, and sometimes your willingness to give students a gentle nudge and a little encouragement.
Thank you also to the parents. Without the support of their families, true success would not be possible. And finally, thank you to the school principals, because schools must also create an environment that inspires a love of learning.”
We are truly proud of Petrs’s achievements and wish him every success in his future endeavours.
