RTU ISST Welcomes Its New Grade 10 Students

The new academic year is a very special one for the RTU International School of Science and Technology (ISST). With the intake of this year’s Grade 10 cohort, the school will, for the first time, have students in Grades 10, 11 and 12. Next summer, the school will also celebrate its first graduation ceremony.

At the RTU International School of Science and Technology, motivated and talented young people study in English following the Cambridge A Level and AS Level programmes, with a strong focus on subjects related to engineering. Students also have the opportunity to develop their research and leadership skills, preparing them for admission to leading universities around the world after graduation and equipping them with internationally recognised qualifications.

The school is one of two secondary schools established by RTU and is unique in Latvia in being located on a university campus alongside RTU’s faculties and laboratories. This provides students with the opportunity to take their first steps in scientific research under the guidance of RTU scientists and experts, as well as to explore innovation and entrepreneurship by developing their own ideas and launching their own businesses.

As of this academic year, the school’s management team has changed – Laura Fjodorova-Ērmane is the Head of School, and Inita Ozoliņa is the Deputy Head of School. We hope that our students will experience the spirit of engineering at RTU and make the most of the opportunities this experience offers for their future!

May the new academic year be exciting, inspiring, and full of success for us all!
