Afterschool activities

In this club, students will have the opportunity to explore the possibilities of virtual reality and learn the skills needed to develop apps using VR technologies.

In higher mathemathics club students repeat the derivation of functions of one argument and take out integration: indefinite integrals, definite integrals and their applications in geometry, improper integrals, double integrals and their applications.

The full name of the club is: “Designing, building, and participating in Energy Efficiency Competitions (E-EC) with electric vehicle prototypes.”  This club empowers students to explore technical possibilities and develop skills in areas like 3D design, electronics, metalworking, and renewable energy. Through hands-on and digital projects, students will gain engineering experience and can compete in the Latvian Energy Efficiency Competitions with their own electric vehicle prototypes.

The Biology Club is intended for students who wish to deepen their knowledge in various fields of biology or enhance their understanding in preparation for exams or competitions. During the club sessions, there will be opportunities to delve deeper into theory, conduct laboratory work, and observe experiments. Students will explore the vast field of biological sciences with experiences from scientific institutes, using the latest technologies to solve various problems and tasks.

In this extracurricular activity, students can also learn about biology, which is not included in their curriculum.

In the club’s activities, students will primarily conduct experiments using sensors and data loggers. The collected data will be processed with computers, analyzed, and compared with theoretical predictions. The skills and knowledge gained will help students prepare for both Olympiads and exams.

Olympiad mathematics is intended for those students who want to learn mathematics in depth for fun and/or to prepare for mathematics olympiads. In the lessons, tasks are solved that correspond to the topics discussed in the Latvia’s National Olympiad. Also, the group is open to those interested in mathematics who want to improve their knowledge and develop logical thinking. Club’s philosophy: „Math is like water – you have to use it daily“.

This is a perfect opportunity to immerse in Latvian culture and pursue a passion for singing. Our mixed choir has earned the privilege to participate in the Song and Dance festival, showcasing our quality.

RTU student club organizes various social and educational events for ISST students to participate in, providing an opportunity to meet RTU students and gain insights into student life.

ISST students can join RTU students in various activities. More information can be found here: https://www.rtu.lv/lv/studijas/arpusstudijas/rtu-kultura/makslinieciskie-kolektivi-un-interesu-klubi

Opportunities in RTU labs – students can choose to have an internship in one of RTU Labs to pursue their passion for discovery

At RTU ISST, we truly value the importance of after-school activities in enhancing the high school experience.

We believe these activities provide students with wonderful opportunities to explore their passions, expand their knowledge in specific areas, and foster a sense of belonging within our vibrant community.

School trips

At RTU ISST, we truly believe that learning happens everywhere – not just in the classroom. That’s why we’re excited to offer our students an amazing opportunity to explore the world and experience new cultures and gain new knowledge through a study trip!

For the 2024/2025 school year, we’ve planned an unforgettable journey to the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, Switzerland – the largest particle physics laboratory in the world! This trip is going to be both educational and exciting, sparking wonder and excitement.

The trip costs are not included in the tuition fee.
